You might be here because...

You may look like you’re holding it all together. But inside, you may find yourself:

  • Replaying conversations and second-guessing what you said.
  • Getting caught in the same painful patterns in relationships.
  • Feeling torn between what you want and what your family expects.
  • Carrying responsibility for everyone else while struggling to make room for yourself.
  • Wondering why certain situations affect you so deeply, even when you understand them intellectually.

Therapy can offer a place to slow down, make sense of these patterns, and explore what might change.

My focus goes beyond just putting a band-aid on surface-level symptoms; instead, we work together to understand the deeper roots of your anxiety, depression, or feelings of being ‘stuck’. My advanced clinical training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy allows us to safely explore and break the long-standing patterns that are holding you back.

I work with people navigating different worlds: familial culture and the culture they grew up in; making money and following their passions; cultural identity and personal identity. Many of the people I work with are managing life impressively on the outside while feeling anxious, exhausted, or stuck inside.

For more than two decades, my work has centered on listening closely to people and the systems that shape their lives. My background spans psychotherapy, clinical supervision, teaching, nonprofit leadership, and public service. As a South Asian therapist, I intimately understand the complexities of navigating dual cultures, generational expectations, and the unique pressures faced by children of immigrants. While my practice is diverse and I work with clients from all backgrounds, this cultural fluency deeply informs my approach. I hold an Advanced Graduate Certificate in psychoanalytic psychotherapy from the Metropolitan Institute for Training in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.

My style is open-minded, inquisitive, and empowering. Everyone’s story is unique and you deserve an individualized approach to care. I work with parents, people in the sandwich generation, young professionals navigating career and personal transitions, and LGBTQ+ clients. I work with individuals and couples from diverse backgrounds — including many people whose lives span more than one culture or generation.

With cultural context

I hold family, community, race, migration, gender, and culture as meaningful parts of your story — and I work to understand what any or all of these mean for you and your background.

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is a particular kind of listening. It’s about paying attention not only to what has happened, but to the patterns that keep repeating — the same argument in different relationships, a familiar kind of disappointment, a pressure to perform that never really lifts. These patterns often operate outside our awareness.

Sometimes, understanding a problem intellectually isn’t enough to change how it feels or how it keeps showing up in your life. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy offers a place to explore the feelings, experiences, and relationship patterns that may be contributing to present-day difficulties — working to understand the root causes so that new choices become possible.

This is not about being told what to do or having every experience reduced to your past. It is a collaborative process of developing a deeper understanding of yourself and exploring different ways of responding.
